A Big Apple Sized Thank You

Published by 3 Comments

I wanted to extend my sincere gratitude to everyone that helped make the trip to New York possible.

We saw many sights during our visit. Strolled through Central Park, ate some fantastic bagels and pizza. Met some really really great folks. Saw some long-distance friends and family in their natural habitat. Got poked by a street vendor with some airheads he was trying to sell. I said no. He asked me if I even cared about my son. A new sales technique that I’m going to use when selling exclusive episodes and such.

Meeting the students at Baruch was an experience I’ll treasure for a lifetime. The excitement of these future podcasters and journalist is contagious. Their future is bright. They asked so many wonderful questions. Their teacher, Gisele Regatão, exuded kindness and gave the warmest and best welcome imaginable. My fellow presenters, Sharon Mashihi of Appearances, and Dawnie Walton of Ursa Story, were equally kind and incredibly engaging. A huge thank you to all, and to Baruch as well as the Mishkin Gallery for hosting us.

Desert Skies: Dead but Still LIVE was an absolute hoot. We sold out! It was the funkiest little theater in Brooklyn in an unforgettably strange venue that I may tell the story of someday. Getting to meet my executive producer, Michael Freiberg, in person was a treat. The fans who came out (from everywhere. DC, Connecticut, New Jersey and of course, NY) were exactly what I expected them to be. The most amazing people ever. A kind young listener who absolutely rocked trivia gave me a crocheted tarantula and another, a polaroid of their favorite cat. We got drinks across the street afterwards and the amount of love for the show shared warmed my heart and made my whole year I think. I can’t wait to take this show to more cities.

From my family to you, however you contributed, whether financially or just by being an amazing fan, you gave us something that will stick with us for the rest of our lives, and I cannot thank you enough.

  • The show was awesome!! It was exactly what I expected.. I knew it would be interesting to watch a one man show but sheesh.. Totally Killed it.. Happy NYC showed you love .. I will definitely be attending your next New York City events so keep em coming..

    • Erm, apologies if appear moronic But!

You say ‘one man show’ is it safe to say you refer to an event you attended in NYC? As opposed to each excellent episode being a ‘one man show!’ Which at best is fanciful But, with AI who knows!!
One is (apart from being a rather elderly old Brit) is fairly new to SF podcasts in particular.
That said, I listened quite recently to a truly fantastic SF ‘podcast’ called ‘RELATIVITY’ in fact Tis in my top 4/5 all time audio ‘plays/multi-episodic SF audio shows’
