Best Practices for Getting Your Message Played on Desert Skies FM

Published by 1 Comment

Greetings, travler!

If you happen upon a communication station along the Astral Highway (and there are several, and I guess you’re at one now because how else would you be reading this?), you can always call 1-800-MAC-HELP to ask questions, get Skylark troubleshooting help, or just to say hey.

We listen to every single message. We LOVE every single message. But we can’t play every single message. 1) It would take too long and 2) Sometimes the messages just….don’t work?

So the following is a list of things to keep in mind if you’d like to have your message played on the show:

  1. Don’t make stuff up. It’s fun hearing about your ideas for new spheres, but only spheres previously mentioned on the show will make it on air. We wouldn’t want to spoil any experiences for others, so it’s okay to talk about, say, the incredibly cold Martian Sphere (Sphere 4) but not to mention the Sphere of Spongebob (who in the heck is Spongebob), or the Sphere of Macaroni and Cheese, or…you get the idea.
  2. The station cannot get calls from the Physical Plane. If you leave a message and say you’re calling from the Physical Plane, we’re going to assume it’s a prank call.
  3. In the same vein, the governing rules of the Astral Plane apply to everyone. For instance, if you mention arriving at the station in something other than the Skylark, we’re going to assume it’s a prank call. If you say you can fly on the Desert Sphere, we’re going to assume it’s a prank call. If you say you drank Shack Juice and felt nothing, we’re going to assume it’s a prank call.
  4. The rest is pretty self-evident. No excessive vulgarity. No Physical Plane politics. No messages of a…nasty nature. You get the idea.

And that’s it. We’d love to hear from you, so don’t be afraid to call 1-800-MAC-HELP (623-4357)

P.S. Don’t feel bad if the message doesn’t make it on the show. Like I said in the beginning, we still hear it and we still love it and we’re always glad you called!
